Developed to create a new way to make electric bikes more appealing and usable for younger people and getting rid of the stigma that an e-bike is made for old or handicapped, the e-motion electric bike concept was designed in an cooperation project with the German bike brand KETTLER at the University of Wuppertal.
It visually attaches the battery above the engine and integrates it into the overall, dynamic design. Because the frame is designed to work with or without the battery it can be removed to the side without having the feeling there is a part on the e-bike missing – as it is on most of the excisting e-bikes. The e-motion bike activates automaticlly by touching the handles and you can easily regulate the amount of help you need by the engine with a twist.
To get rid of the still excisting safety issues with bicycles in the dark a LED position-light strip is built right into the frame at the front and back to ensure you will get noticed in the dark.
