One of the things I love most about blogging is the community of industrial designers who come on Embody 3D and check out the articles and who leave some really helpful comments. Last week I did a post on ‘Design for Life’ a new reality TV show featuring Philippe Starck that aired in Australia last week, which can be viewed at:
http://www.abc.net.au/iview/#/view/577321
I had a couple of people ask how can I watch this series if I am not in Great Britain or Australia. I would like to acknowledge Raph from our good friends at Design Droplets for letting us know that the episodes can be viewed on Vimeo:
Episode 1 – http://vimeo.com/6767745
Episode 2 – http://vimeo.com/6942733
Episode 3 – http://vimeo.com/6944872
Episode 4 – http://vimeo.com/6924360
Episode 5 – http://vimeo.com/7088473
Episode 6 – http://vimeo.com/7232828
Now anyone can watch the episodes online, and impatient Australians can skip ahead of the ABC broadcast!
Also one of the UK Embody3Ders by the comical name ‘Dr Plop’ let us know of a new series airing there at the moment called ‘The Genius of Design’. I must admit the Philippe Starck TV series is not everyones cup of tea, but after watching the first episode of ‘The Genius of Design’ I can safely say it is a far more educational and insightful program revealing a modern history of industrial design and products. Definitely check this series out, it is like Objectified in a tv series form!

‘The Genius of Design’ is a really great series – just watched episode 4 and the wonderful world of plastic and Sony Walkmans…
I want to run an industrial design competition TV show for Africa and I want to be educated about it.
